PROJECTS

The Constant

"THE CONSTANT" is a pop/rock band from Aachen, Germany, which I am drumming and producing sounds/intros/interludes for. We went online in march 2016 after breaking up our old band and building the new one for over year. We were able to record a 3 song EP, about which we are very happy. You can listen to it below. You can also visit us on Facebook and Youtube, where we already gathered a solid amount of video-material.

Demos

Everytime we write a new song I demo it as good as possible. Not only for the others to learn the song, but especially to be able to listen to it in an acceptable quality. Demoing became really essential for me to be able to tell, whether a song "works" or not. I mean, you are able to listen to it over and over again. Does it feel good? Does it get boring? How's the vibe? What do friends think about the song? While producing the demo I also produce the sample and sounds we will use live. Apart from all that, it also is a lot of fun.

"TO THE MOON" is a more alternative/progressive pop-rock song, that was heavily inspired by bands like "Tame Impala" and the sound of the 60s and 70s. You can read about it here!

Videos

Here are a few live-videos of our more recent songs.

Flipso

"FLIPSO" is a project of mine, where I produce electronic music. I started producing EDM a few years ago. It's a lot of fun for me, because it is so much different from the situation you will experience in a band formation. It is also a lot more about sound-design than writing songs for a band and that is what makes it so interesting for me.

Atlantis

"ATLANTIS" was the second track I produced. Thematically, it is based on the last ride of the Atlantis space shuttle, which ended an era of a certain space-program. I stumbled upon NASA samples on their soundcloud, which I thought were very cool and they inspired me to build the music around this idea. Musically, I tried to hit a very epic mood. Although the track is basically composed in a typical 130bpm club-house kind of way (intro - build up - drop - c part - last drop - outro), for me, it is not a track you'd hear in a club. I also never intended to do that, because for me, it ought to be a track you can listen to at home like you would do with a pop or rock song.

All You Need

"ALL YOU NEED" is the first complete track I produced after taking my first steps in producing electronic music. When I was listening to Daft Punk, I noticed that the samples they use often won't dissolve harmonically. So if you listen to "One More Time" or "Digital Love", you will notice that there is always a certain drive and tension in the chord progressions, that make the songs so exciting. I tried to do exactly the same (at least for the most part). Thematically, the song is about love.

Soundtrack for game "(PL)ANT LIFE"

As part of a big game jam called "INDIE SPEED RUN 2015", I created the soundtrack for a game, which was developed by a good friend of mine and two other guys. In the game "(PL)ANT LIFE", which by the way made it to the 10 finalists, you play a flower, which has to rebuild itself by growing branches, leaves and more. For the game, I composed a bossa nova called "NIGHTTIME IN SAN FRANCISCO". Read more about it in this post of mine!

Soundtrack for shortfilm "Spuren von Ewigkeit"

In the winter holidays 2015, I had the great opportunity to create a soundtrack for a shortfilm called "SPUREN VON EWIGKEIT" with my dear friend Marvin John Halog. The soundtrack also contains a full song/interlude called "TRACES" we wrote for our new band. You can read more about it here!
